Hello! My name is Oscar Grajeda,
or Mr. Oscar as the students call me. I’m excited to be serving as the School
Psychologist at Barnard Elementary. This is my second year at Barnard and I
have truly loved getting to know the students, families, and the community.
I hold an Education Specialist
(Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology, a Master’s in Education with a Counseling
Concentration from San Diego State University (SDSU), and a Bachelor’s degree
in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from St. John Fisher University in
Rochester, New York. I am also a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP) in the
state of California.
In addition to working in
schools, I have been an adjunct professor at San Diego State University (SDSU)
since 2014 and an instructor at the High Tech High Teacher Center, where I
teach graduate courses in assessment and internship preparation for future
educators and school psychologists.
I have the privilege of working
with neurodivergent students in all capacities, supporting their academic,
social, and emotional growth. I am passionate about creating supportive
learning environments where every student feels valued, understood, and empowered
to reach their potential. I believe collaboration with families, teachers, and
staff is key to helping children succeed both academically and emotionally.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active, and
spending quality time with my family.
